This is an authentic vintage tribal Turkish Konya rug hand-knotted in Turkey with an all wool pile on a wool foundation. There is minor even wear on the pile and a small professional repair, see photos, this rug is in very good condition.

Konya Rugs – The tradition of carpet weaving in Konya goes all the way back to the 13th century and was also the former capital of the Seljuk Empire. Konya is a producer of rugs woven with lustrous pure wool that comes from the surrounding rural areas including the famous Ladik carpets. Konya rugs are commonly woven with the geometric motif “Memling Gul” and are combined with magnificent color combinations. Konya rugs are highly sought after by collectors and are the Turkish counterparts to Caucasian Kazaks.
